چکیده

There has been recent interest in characterizing UHF propagation within buildings and houses. Factory radio channels, however , have not been discussed previously in the literature. This paper details the results of narrow-hand propagation measurements performed at five factories. The extensive empirical data indicate that path loss is dependent upon local surroundings and is log-normally distributed , temporal fading is Rician, and small-scale signal fluctuations due to receiver motion are primarily Rayleigh, although Rician and log-normal distributions fit some of the data. Shadowing effects of common factory equipment likely to obstruct indoor radio paths are also given here.

The Characterization of Fading Channels

When the mechanisms that cause fading in communication channels were first modeled in the 1950s and 1960s, the principles developed were primarily applied to over-the-horizon communications covering a wide range of frequency bands. The 3-30 MHz high-frequency (HF) band used for ionospheric propagation, as well as the 300 MHz-3 GHz ultra-high-frequency (UHF) and the 3-30 GHz superhigh-frequency ...

The Performance Enhancement of UHF RFID Reader in Multi-path Fading Environment Using Antenna Diversity

Abstract: In wireless communication, the multi-path fading effect has big influence on the system performance. Especially, in passive UHF RFID system where tag is operated by the power supplied with the RF signal of the reader, the influence of multi-path fading increases. Therefore the communication performance changes drastically depending on the locations of tags and reader. In this paper, w...

Mobile Satellite Channel

In this report, we consider the performance of trellis coded multilevel differential phase-shift-keying (MDPSK) over Rician and Rayleigh fading channels. For operation at L-Band, this signaling technique leads to a more robust system than the coherent system with dual pilot tone calibration previously proposed for UHF. The results are obtained using a Combination of analysis and simulation. The...

Mitigating the Degradation Effects of Fading Channels

This article emphasizes so-called Rayleigh fading, primarily in the UHF band, that affects mobile systems such as cellular and personal communication systems (PCS). The major elements that contribute to fading and their degradation effects in a communication channel are briefly summarized. Emphasis is then placed on methods for mitigating the degradation. Two examples of specific mitigation tec...

Sea Surface Reflection and Power Attenuation Analysis of Radio Wave in UHF Satellite Communications

Ultra High Frequency (UHF) band is increasingly widely used in military maritime satellite communications due to its good communication performance. Electromagnetic wave emitted by satellite is reflected when reaching the sea surface, and multipath fading is very serious which causes interference on the received signal, especially when satellite elevation angle is low. In this paper, the UHF ba...
